Omas Ingegno Scrittorio Fountain Pen

The Ingegno Scrittorio - The Writing Genius - celebrates the 550th anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci. The pen was conceived and designed with the cooperation of Gianluca Malaguti, grandson of Omas founder, Armando Simoni. Historical and artistic authenticity was ensured with counsel from Prof Alessandro Vezzosi, Director of the Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci.

The master's drawings served as a guide when designing the Ingegno Scrittorio, thereby creating the ultimate pen he envisioned. The intricate decorations on the body, top and end sections of the Ingegno Scrittorio are inspired by da Vinci knots, a signature of his work. A small sphere with tiger's eye cabochon tops the 18-carat gold version; a cornelian cabochon adorns its sterling silver counterpart. These were the materials Leonardo often used in his own masterpieces. The name of the collection is burned into the pen's oak case, aok being the material of the renaissance and one of Leonardo's primary mediums. The case's simple exterior is contrasted with a luxurious interior, reflecting the complexity of Leonardo da Vinci and the nobility of the exquisite Ingegno Scrittorio.

Limited Edition: 100 in 18 karat gold and 1000 in Sterling Silver.
